try this spin off of an old fashioned originated
at Hollywood’s Hi HO CLUB during the 1930’s. combine
2 ounces CANADIAN WHISKY, 1/2 ounce ORANGE CURACAO
3 dashes BITTER, in a cocktail shaker, fill with ICE Shake well and strain into an old fashioned glass with ice garnish with wedge of orange and lemon
a splash of anise liqueur, and a splash of lime juice in a cocktail shaker fill with ICE,
Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass
fill an old fashioned glass with ICE
add the juice of one lime, 1 1/2 ounces TIA MARIA
stir and garnish with a lime slice
the CHARLIE CHAPLIN
combine 1 ounce sloe gin, 1 ounce apricot liqueur
and a splash of lime juice into a cocktail shaker fill with ICE
shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass
the GINGER ROGERS
put 10 mint leaves in a tall glass, add 1/2 ounce of ginger syrup, and muddle with a wooden spoon, fill the glass with ICE and add
1 1/2 ounce gin, 1/2 ounce of lime juice
top with ginger ale and stir, garnish with a lime wedge
These are some Old school Hollywood Recipes. I had some mint leaves growing in my herb garden, So I tried the Ginger Rogers recipe and it was a refreshing summertime drink. I would rate it a yummy 4 star cocktail! The Marlene Dietrich cocktail is the recipe from the infamous Hollywood HI HO Club and was created there just for her! I will try it this weekend!
